Books That Will Actually Change You

Happy first week of 2018! Can you feel the electricity in the air??? This year is going to be BIG for so many people and I could not be more excited.

With this dawn of a new year, I know that most of you (especially if you're one of my amazing subscribers) has a new year's goal... well, probably more than one... because you're a go-getter and you know you can!

For many of you, including me, one of those goals is reading more books. I love this goal. Reading and writing is such a huge part of personal growth and self-care, so I say, "DO IT!" But do it intentionally.

What are you reading for? For new perspective? For self awareness? Are you just searching? Whatever your intention is, try to choose books that align with that. Create your own self education course!

Don't know where to begin? Here, let me help.

If you follow me on any Instagram, you know that along with all the journaling, I am also talking about the newest book that I've read or want to recommend to you. Well, I've read some great books, some not so great books, some books I've read only half-way, some I've read in a couple hours, and some I've read over and over again.

Here is a list of books that I would recommend to you if you're wanting to get yourself outside of the way you've been thinking/doing things. I read these with the intention to become more aware of my purpose, and to let my thoughts, habits, and actions be changed. I read these to get out of the cycle of whatever it was that WASN'T working anymore, so that I could start doing what WILL work. I used/use these to self-coach myself... and you can too.

The list is short, and although I've read some other great books with this intention in mind, I don't feel that they resonated enough with me to suggest them to you. Keep in mind, that I personally like to read things that have a touch of logic and practicality to them so I tend to get turned off by concepts that lack that aspect. If you have any suggestions for me, I'd love to hear them!

Let me know what you think of these:

The Book of Awakening by Mark Nepo

Self Observation by Red Hawk (this short book took me a whole year to read because it was so beyond my way of thinking, but it has literally made me who I am today)

22 Non Negotiable Laws of Wellness by Greg Anderson

The Four Agreements: A Practical Guide to Personal Freedom by Don Miguel Ruiz

The War of Art by Steven Pressfield

The Power of Now by Eckhart Tolle

BIG love to you,

Leah
